The New Mexico Housing and Community Development Corporation (NMHCDC) places special emphasis and commitment to the development, sponsorship, management and/or ownership of low to moderate income housing. The corporation was created in 2003 for the purpose of developing and/or providing, on a 501(c)3 non-profit basis, decent, safe and sanitary housing for low- and moderate-income households, and individuals – including the elderly, handicapped and disabled. Services are provided under applicable housing programs including, but not limited to the United States Department of Agriculture Department of Rural Development, Federal Housing Administration, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. These programs provide multi-family rental housing through acquisition and rehabilitation, homeownership programs, self-help housing and home rehabilitation, to low- and moderate-income consumers.
